Slow Down and Breathe Mini Art Journal Project
It’s easy to chug along, gain speed, and forget to press on the breaks in the business of everyday life. Today, Shoppe Manager Vanessa Spencer reveals a simple project to help you take time to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the present moment in this creative, art journal project.
Slow Down and Breathe Mini Art Journal Project Tutorial
- Start by altering the background of the Faber Castell Mini Mixed-Media Journal with Faber Castell Gelato colors of your choice.
- To achieve a watercolor effect, simply rub the sticks onto the pages, and use a damp paper towel to blend the colors. Feel free to experiment to achieve desired results.
- Once the pages are dry, embellish with some torn pieces of paper. (For this particular project, Vanessa used cards from the Project Life Core Kit Jade Edition).
- Then use the 2 inch stencils with a grey Montana acrylic paint marker to stencil the large letters on. Once the paint has dried, finish the word in scripted handwriting. Use the paint marker to make small dots and blots on the edges of the papers.
- Vanessa also dabbed some very light teal acrylic paint on the edges at random. You can add pictures and more to your mini art journal pages, or leave them as they are. The final product? An artful journal to remind you of the importance of rest and relaxation.
