  1. April Esterly says:

Affix pressed leaves and flowers to the outside, and use them for little cakes or cookies as a tea/ garden party giveaway. Maybe even personalize with name tags.Tied with fancy ribbon of course. And I’m sure many of us thought they would make great halloween goodie bags.

  2. Jani Howe says:

One way I’ve used sandwich bags for a gift was for a dear friend a few years ago. Inside the bag, I put a cork, with a needle sticking in it, (the old-fashioned way of piercing ears!) and a gift certificate for a jewelry store, for an ear piercing, plus a pair of new ear studs! This was a huge hit, and the story has been told many times over the years!

  3. Eileen Barton says:

I would punch tiny holes in them and fill with potpourri…decorate the outsides to suit whatever room they are for.

  4. BJ Baughman says:

I think that they would be a very surprising addition to the Junque Journal that our group is currently making. I would just love to hide a little note inside one of them…or one of my favorite ATCs…or just a pressed flower that I have saved for years!

  5. Roberta Helzer says:

Oh, these are so nice! I would create mini painted masterpieces and slide them into the bags. I’d then affix a label with the recipients name and title of the painting. They would be set atop a place setting at a dinner party.

  6. Linda Schmidt says:

I would use them to put my vegan baked goods in to sell at our local farmers market. I would tie the tops closrd with natural organ ribbon or hemp cord and decorate the front with organic colored paper and write the name of the yummy treat thats hidding inside.

  7. Julia Howard says:

Doing a road trip with kids! Make a goody bag for each day filled with stickers, small sketch pads, puzzle kits… Then when hat moment of restlessness comes, had them the bag sir the day!
Or if you have the grandkids for a few days…
Or for that unexpected stay in the hospital. This is great for kids or adults! He bags for adults can have quotes and quips or Bible verses for encouragement.

  8. Laura Strack says:

These bags would be great for a cookie swap or giving cookies as a hostess gift! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  9. Nadine says:

  10. Becky Benson says:

These would be perfect for teacher treats or prizes for students or a student project encouraging kids to make/give a RAK.

It would be great to put some tea in them!!!!!!

I would put love notes and small treats in them and use them as a countdown to a special day! These are so cool! Thank you for the chance to win!

  14. Kathy morris says:

I would use the wax bags when I am leaving gift cards for coffee on police officers patrol cars as small acts of Kindness. I have used them to leave money for parking at our local lake as an act of kindness. I usually place a card and a note on the front of the wax bag. It has been fun!

  15. Erin Glee says:

I would love to win these wax bags for cat treats!
Our kitty Mario loves to chew on wax bags, such as cereal bags. These would be sweet with a home made cat treat biscuit inside and a sprig of catnip tied on with a fun string~ pampered feline favors! Meow!

  16. Julia Howard says:

Doing a road trip with kids? Create a bag for each day, and when that moment of restlessness comes, give them a fun filled bag. Stickers, small sketchbook, puzzle kit, List games, (can you find…? License plates…etc)
Or, do you have the grandkids for a few days? You can do the same thing.
Also are great for unexpected hospital stays, for kids or adults. For adults, make cards with quotes, scripture verses…

    • Sarah says:

Wonderful idea! My mom used to do that on airplane trips. Every couple of hours we’d get another present to keep us entertained.

  17. HawaiianLibrarian says:

I’d like to use the waxed sacks for loose tea blends to share with my fellow tea swappers, decorating the outside of the sacks with washi tapes, pearls and blings.

  18. Bonnie says:

I would use them to make the panels for tea light lanterns using
They would make a soft glowing light for a night time patio party.

  19. Sami Thompson says:

I’d like to use these waxed bags to create a set of “Newlywed Favors.” My daughter married last November. Because of my illness, she and her beloved did their own tiny wedding, which was lovely. Wouldn’t these bags be pretty decorated with ink, paint, or pearls, each one concealing a special surprise? I think a recipe card – and maybe a sample of the cookie – would just fit inside these little bags. Yum!

I’d especially like to create a set of these bags to hold USB drives and small prints of the candid shots taken at the wedding. Matching bags could hold essential tools, such as photo corners, pens for captions, etc., and of course, one bag would contain a gift certificate for a wonderful photo album of her choice.

Even if the newlyweds already have the material things they need, you could fill these wonderful bags with all kinds of fun – from delicious goodies to gift certificates to items that will feed their spirits.

Thank you for these opportunities to exercise our creativity!

  20. I would fill each one with a small thin piece of cardboard, small samples of vintage ephemera, canceled postage stamps, scrapbook papers in mini sizes, an extra waxed bag and a white gel pen. I would also include a small mixed media collage handmade by me with a note explaining this is an art kit. Ask the recipient of the bag to make another mixed media collage and pass it on to someone else. would also include Stampingfon’s website address so they could order more bags for themselves. To the front I would add a little art paper with a cool stamp design.

  21. I’d sew about 6-8 bags together on the sealed end to make a mini-journal, perfect to record thoughts, ideas and musings on a weekend getaway. Within each bag opening I could insert a piece of plain cardstock to record my thoughts. As I collect leaves, feathers, ticket stubs, candy wrappers and other ephemera from the weekend, I could insert them into each bag opening and thus keep these treasures securely together for a special memento of a fun outing.

  22. Tara Medrano says:

I have so many people to THANK for helping us out this year! I would LOVE to put some of my art on them and give them out, with little goodies in them, to the people who have helped me. I would also like to add some artwork to them, and send them to Stampington and Company!
Please include me in your generous giveaway!

  23. Jennifer Moore says:

I would decorate them with small flowers made of book pages, and fabulous cream-colored ribbon I just purchased at an estate sale. This would create the perfect packaging for the necklaces I am working on!

  24. barbara lassiter says:

Some of my friends and I go out for lunch to celebrate one another’s birthdays! We always have gifts for the birthday girl and we have favor bags with little gifts for everyone else. These would be perfect and fun to decorate for this purpose. The bags are a great idea! :)

  25. kimberly robson says:

I would put them a and all together or maybe half and make journal. My first grandson is starting school this year. the other half i can use for a baby book. That would be for the 2nd grandson.

  26. Susanne says:

I like to put homemade bath salts in the wax bags roll them up wit crinkle ribbon and an adorable tag

  27. Deb Wright says:

Oh, so cute to use in a Fall workshop with my crafty friends!

  28. I used a Tim Holtz Glassine Envelope to make a pocket card for a paper doll and her wardrobe. I folded the envelope in half and pieced decorative strips on the front. To secure them in place and form to pockets, I stapled the sides to the pocket. This double pocket technique works with bags too. You can see my project at the following blog addresses. I hope you like them!

    http://arnoldolromero.blogspot.com/2014/05/this-and-that.html

  29. Barb says:

The bags are a little like a Pandora’s box…you can’t wait to see what’s inside. My friend and I often send little artsy trinkets to each other, just fun stuff. A great presentation for them. My first thought when I saw them was I’d put a big chocolate chip cookie inside for my grandkids. They’d love that!

    • Sarah says:

I love chocolate chip cookies too! Add an extra touch of elegance to your cookies by stapling a doily to the top and tying it shut with a ribbon bow.

  30. Renee G says:

I would love to use these to put my patterns in. They would still be visible, but any loose pieces would be contained.

  31. Jan Ostridge says:

I just purchased a Tim Holtz collection folio and I thought when I saw the bags, they would be great to use in the folio. Thanks

  32. I love to decorate bags and use them as envelopes to mail my handmade cards to family and friends.

  33. Rosalie says:

I always make/give favors to my friends whenever I entertain them for brunch/lunch/tea. The wax bags would be great stuffed with supplies to make a couple of note cards (envelopes, cardstock, pattern paper, stickers, a few embellishments). Friends can then make their own cards at home.

  34. Linda Casey - green butterfly says:

Insert pressed flowers and plant material inside. sandwich bag between paper and iron to melt was and secure pressed material.

I love using them for gifts and to send in the mail as mail art. I wanted to organize some small ephemera that I have cut out and these would be perfect for that! Packing a picnic is wonderful, it looks beautiful!

  37. Gabrielle Madsen says:

I would use them as the sleeve for art cards. Printed or originals 2.5 x 3.5 inches or larger. I would fold over the top a couple times and seal with a decorative motif (adhesive side down). Perhaps a glitter glass star or paper rosette.

  38. Tisa@ChicTiquesCafe says:

In honor of the Sequim Lavender Festival coming up the weekend of July 17th-19th, I’d sew the edges of three bags together, side by side: in the center bag I’d put some dried lavender & poke holes so the scent could waft out & use a lavender pattern washi tape to close the top. The bags on either side would actually have a small window cut out on each bag to highlight a portion of a photograph taken of the lavender grown in my cottage garden that I slip inside each bag. Ooh la la! I could glue a small magnet to the bag of each bag & hang on my fridge….voila!

  39. Kathy H says:

These are perfect little catch alls for art journals. I love to create my own journals for gift giving and my own use. I like to add little pockets and containers to hold trinkets and tags.

  40. Jane says:

I love these bags and use them to “wrap” small gifts, as well as to make pockets in handmade journals. In fact, I’m leading a workshop on making Junque Journals for our local arts council tomorrow. I prepared kits for participants that include unbleached waxed bags containing a variety of ephemera to be used inside the journals. I can’t wait to see how many people include the bag itself in their journals!

  41. Kathleen says:

Love this idea – maybe stitch on the side so openings will face up. Thank you!

  42. Kathleen says:

Cut silhouettes out of black cardstock (profiles, holiday themes, etc.), about the same dimensions as the bags, place a silhouette in each bag, seal bags, and washi tape them to window panes or make a banner. Might be a great Halloween deco with witches, cats and bats, using hemp twine to make a banner.

  43. Cindy K says:

I think these bags would be perfect to decorate and then put seeds from your flowers in for gift giving!

    Love these bags!

  44. Lisa Sackett says:

Funny that I just bought these! I thought they would make great organic gifting for birthday gifts when you want to give something small and handmade. Add a simple tag and tie up with bakers twine. I also plan to add a couple to my Planner that I currently have in progress.

  45. Marilynne says:

These would be a perfect way to present a collector with a purchased miniature painting, which could be slipped in to protect it until framed by the owner. These would work for any medium. but would be especially perfect for small pastel creations, to protect it from smearing. It could be sealed with a small handmade tag, including the artist’s card.

  46. Kim P. says:

I would decorate them on the outside with the words “Safe” or “thankful” for people who have survived a suicide attempt. Then fill the inside with cards to prompt them with things like: helpful people, things I used to enjoy, my favorite food..to prompt them to start thinking positively.

  47. Sharon Shevelson says:

Make a first aid kit for my college daughter and her floor mates as she goes off to college.

  48. JackieP Neal says:

I think these little bags would be perfect carriers for my atc’s when trading. These bags would also be great for atop Christmas presents,or decorated and used for a money or gift card.

  49. lura brown says:

i would love to try and make flowers out of them and see if alcohol ink would take to them to make them different colors.

  50. Pamela Parson says:

I think they could make lovely envelopes for handmade greeting cards or packing for small canvas artwork.

  51. pat martin says:

The earthy color of these waxed glassine bags are perfect for take-home eats after Thanksgiving or any autumn dinner get-together. Affix an image, or a tiny reproduced photo onto design tape. Wrap the tape around the width of the bag. Drop-in buttery mini biscuits & ham or small butter cookies wrapped in saran wrap and then use a stapleless fastener to seal the bag. A great little food memory that says the host loved you being there.

  52. ruby t says:

These little bags are perfect to hold some of my nut chocolates that I make for friends. Of course they would not be complete without collage labels attached to the top and a bit of ribbon.

  53. jan metcalf says:

Love these little wax bags! If using them today would fill with some trinket sewing supplies for my crafty friends to use on their card designs!

  54. Karen says:

I never know how to gift wrap a little artwork or jewelry mounted on cardstock, but the wax bag tied with string would be perfect.

  55. Pat May says:

These bags long for vintage supplies. I would make kits with vintage photos, lace, ribbons and other vintage ephemera to use for journaling or mixed media creations.

  56. rose says:

There are so many fantastically creative ideas in the comments above that I’ve realized I’m not that creative… I’ll be trying some of these ideas too. My idea was to pictures of my children in them and hang then in a row on a string of yarn, lace, chain, ribbon, etc, then hang them on my walls. I’m tired of picture frames.

  57. Cyndi V. says:

I would fill them with homemade granola, then affix the recipe card for the granola mix on the outside with a pretty vintage ribbon. Great for a tea- party favor (or hostess gift). Add a place setting card on top of each and this pretty package can grace the top of any shabby-chic table.

  58. Vicki says:

I would add papers, stamps, fibers, ribbons, lace etc. to the outsides, sew the bottoms together to make a book for keepsake treasures! Aloha

  59. Debby says:

I am picturing delicious cookies to sell made with our honey. And they could have buzzing bee decorations on the outside. Really any yummy treat made with our honey could go inside. How fun!

  60. Kathy E. says:

I would cut a perfect circle out of the front (about 3-4″ in diameter), then replace the hole with cellophane. Inside would go one of my secret-recipe cookies so it would be peeking through and wishing my teacher friends a great, successful new school year! Some fun stickers on the outside with raffia would dazzle it up.

  61. Kimberley says:

    Hello,

I have never seen or heard of these bags before. I am feeling seriously deprived! I would love to use them for special snacks for friends and family. Possibly even small gifts. These bags are gorgeous.

  62. Tracy W. says:

I would cut the bottom off, punch a small pattern around the circumference, add some glitter, attach the bottom to a base and insert a battery operated votive! Voila…. Outdoor luminaria

  63. Jan de says:

Since these waxed bags would probably last forever I would snip a lock of hair from myself, my husband, children, and grandchildren and put them in seperate bags and then tie them together with ribbon and place them in my cedar chest.

  64. Melanie says:

I am going to use these bags to package up my jewelry pieces for my new Etsy shop!! I’ll close them up with a sticker if my logo and contact information with cute little ribbons!

  65. Nadine Jordan says:

I will use these for embellishments in my pocket letters. I am sure there are many won.fearful ideas for there use. I will use them often.

  66. Cindy DeSpain says:

Popcorn balls, Halloween decorations! A nice tag to wrap it up in.
Homemade body salts, tied up with ribbon and bows.
Homemade dog biscuits and cat treats with lovely papers and a little scoop tied to the front.

  67. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and let me
tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something that not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I found this in my search for
    something concerning this.

  68. It’s in fact very complicated in this busy life to listen news on TV, therefore I only use web for that purpose, and get the most up-to-date information.

  69. Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long
as I provide credit and sources back to your site?
My website is in the very same niche as yours and my visitors would certainly benefit from some of the information you present here.

Please let me know if this alright with you. Thank you!
