The Writer’s Block Canvas + Spellbinders Giveaway

[On the Blog] The Writer's Block Canvas + Spellbinders GiveawayWhile completing my master’s degree in writing, I started a novel as part of my thesis assignment. This novel grew from a short story to a novella, and is now a fully-formed novel that has been following me around for more than two years.

And I just can’t seem to finish it.

I have been systematically prevented from finishing this novel by the most egregious writer’s block possible. I have tried tackling it chapter by chapter, tried grappling with sentence after sentence — and it is still not complete.

This project is a little reminder that I can place on my desk to inspire me to just “tell the story.”

Instructions:

The Writer's Block Canvas + Spellbinders Giveaway

Paint entire canvas with Ocean paint by Dina Wakley. Let dry.

Ink the edges of the canvas with Timber Brown ink, then lightly brush the inkpad over the rest of the canvas to add some distressed details.

Die cut heart from the Tim Holtz paper pad. Rub entire heart with gold gelatos and blend with a makeup sponge or blending tool.

The Writer's Block Canvas + Spellbinders Giveaway

Glue heart to center of the canvas with gel medium. Apply a thick border of gel medium around the heart, sprinkle with glass glitter.

Tip: Before shaking off the excess glitter, push the glitter with a flat object (like the lid of the glass glitter) so that it adheres better to the gel medium.

Ink the edges of the Tim Holtz sticker and adhere to the corner of the canvas.

How exciting!! I hope that your writer’s block evaporates and that you finish your story! I would love to read it to see what it is all about! From the time I picked up my first book when I was a little one I have always been a reader! My doctor of 35 years is always saying that he has never seen me without a book! I read just about any type of book because they allow me to travel to places real and imagined!

I saved to Pinterest! I would put “believe” on my canvas. If you believe you can do it, you will. I don’t own a die cut and embossing machine and would love to start out with the Spellbinder Platinum 6.

  24. Lynn says:

AM I the only human on Earth that doesn’t do “Social Media”?

Being a “Senior” does have it’s advantages, but times like this make me feel so out of sync with the rest of you all. But, honestly, I have no need for “Social Media”.

It would be amazing if I won the fabulous Spellbinder Platinum 6, but it seems most of these type of “giveaways” always require one to post on some Social Media site, so I guess I am never going to be a winner in your “giveaways”.

    Sad.
    Love the blog regardless.

  25. Sharon says:

I would love to share this on Pinterest (in my “I want one” folder) or on Facebook, but I don’t know how. Can someone enlighten me? I am also a senior, but computers have evolved much faster than when I was one of three people in my school who could use them back in 1980.
