Free Project Idea: Black & White Decoupage Pumpkins
With the first full day of fall officially here, it was time to bring out the pumpkins again! Halloween is just around the corner and Thanksgiving is already on the horizon, so get ready for the season with this simple tutorial for transforming ordinary paper mache pumpkins into sophisticated decoupage pumpkins for your table or fireplace. In just a few steps, create a decoration that will delight all autumn long.

Paint entire paper mache pumpkin with white paint and let dry.
Apply a heavy coating of gel medium to the pumpkin, then place large sheet of tissue wrap over whole pumpkin. Smooth out all creases and trim away excess tissue. Wrap with rubber bands to keep tissue in place. Let dry.
Alternate method: You can also cut the melange tissue into strips and adhere these one at a time.
Cover stem of pumpkin with black paint.
Tie black ribbon around pumpkin and adhere with some glue.
