Keep Calm & Read On: Metal-Stamped Bookmark Project Tutorial
There’s nothing better than sitting down with a good book before bedtime. Something about comfy pajamas mixed with beautiful literature just makes me feel extra cozy. For this bookmark, I added a metal-stamped sentiment that reminds me of the pleasure of reading at the end of the day.
Supplies:
- Impress Art Metal Stamping Kit — Lowercase Newsprint
- Impress Art Assorted Metal Stamping Blanks and Chain Kit
- Permanent marker
- Rubbing alcohol
- Decorative ribbon
- Power drill
Instructions:
Using a power drill, make a hole at the top of the bookmark. Sand down any sharp edges with a metal file.
Place the blank on a dapping block (included in kit) and stamp each letter of your sentiment.
Tips: Be sure that you set your dapping block on a flat, hard surface so that it doesn’t shift while you are stamping. Hold your stamping letter straight up and down, then try to hit the top with one, firm strike. The more hits you try with your letter, the higher the chance of error. One firm strike should be all you need.
Outline each stamped impression with permanent marker, let dry for a minute, then lightly rub away the excess ink with rubbing alcohol. This will make the impressions stand out.
Attach ribbon to the top of your bookmark.

Thank you,
You arrived and took me away from a stressful situation. God Bless you.
I love this idea. I have this set and don’t use it. I love the stamped look and need to find some metal pieces and do it. Thanks for the encouragement.
