Free Project Idea: Live in Today Corkboard Organizer Project
Every morning, I wake up, get breakfast ready, then sit on the couch and organize my day. It’s a habit I developed recently to cope with the massive amount of items on my to-do list. I know that I will never reach the bottom of my to-do list, but I at least chip away at it every day.
This corkboard organizer is an immediate reminder when I wake up in the morning to only tackle today’s work. It’s easy to get side-tracked by tomorrow’s overwhelming pile of work, but as long as we focus on today, we’ll get through just fine.
Supplies:
- Advantus Tim Holtz Idea-ology Letterpress Blocks
- 7gypsies Solo Shadowbox Tray White 6 x 6
- Ranger Ink Dylusions Acrylic Paint – London Blue
- Ranger Ink Dylusions Acrylic Paint – Bubblegum Pink
- Ranger Ink Dylusions Acrylic Paint – Fresh lime
- Ranger Ink Dylusions Acrylic Paint – Lemon
- Ranger Ink Dylusions Acrylic Paint – Vibrant Turquoise
- Cork board sheet
- Sandpaper
- Strong adhesive
Instructions:
Paint shadowbox with black spray paint or in preferred color.
Cut the cork board sheet to fit inside each section of the shadowbox. For the bottom three sections, layer the cork board until it is level with the top edge of the shadowbox. Glue pieces down with strong adhesive.
Spell out your phrase and paint the top of each letter with a different color of Dylusions paint. Let dry completely.
Tip: Use a flat brush to just skim the raised edge of each letter. Paint doesn’t need to be opaque because you’ll be sanding away the imperfections in the next step.
Sand each letter with coarse grit sandpaper to wear down the edges.
Attach phrase to the top section of the shadowbox with strong adhesive.
