Throw a Girls’ Night Soap Making Party!

Soap Making PartyMy gal pals and I threw an amazing tie dyeing party a few weeks ago and we’ve been itching to get together ever since for another crafting party. It’s a time to hang out, chat about life, and make something new.

For our next soirée, I was thinking that a soap making party could be the perfect chance to stretch our creative muscles. Each of us can create a customized soap to take home, with different scent combinations and dried herb mixtures.

This party idea can be created with your own supplies, or you can purchase the Girls’ Night Soap Making Party Kit at The Shoppe At Somerset.

Cut soap base into small pieces and microwave for 30 second increments until soap base is entirely melted.

Each party goer will need their own soap mold to use. For this party, we used tart tins as our soap molds. Spritz them with vodka or rubbing alcohol before pouring the soap base so that the soaps release easily from the mold.

Soap Making Party

Pour soap base into each tart tin and add a few drops of essential oils until desired scent is achieved. Use a plastic utensil or paper straw to mix the essential oils into the mixture. For the pictured party, we used Sweet Orange and Lavender essential oils.

Soap Making Party

Sprinkle the tops with dried herbs, like lavender and dried orange peel, to add some exfoliant, or stir these ingredients into the soaps.

Each soap will need 10-20 minutes in the fridge to set once finished. This is a great time to grab more food, wine, and conversation.

Package each soap in a glassine envelope, fold over the edge, hole punch, and tie a festive ribbon for a party favor that is sure to please.

Tips for Your Soap Making Party:

Soap Making Party

  • Protect your table with a plastic tablecloth so that you don’t have to worry about spills.
  • Play music in the background to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • While the soap is setting in the fridge, take advantage of the time to play a party game or have a snack.
  • Always have more supplies than you think you need. Have some plastic utensils ready to go in case people need them and plan for having extra supplies. For every five guests, have at least one spare set of supplies in case of spills, mistakes, etc.
  • To keep all the supplies easily accessible, we recommend having several bowls set up in the middle of the table so that everyone has their supplies within easy reach.
  • When the soaps are finished, you can also have your party guests decorate their glassine envelopes with decorative paper, markers, or stamps. With creativity, the possibilities are endless!

  1. If you really hit it off with your escort, book an extended encounter the NEXT time you are there for business. Discuss the terms with her ahead of time to work out the details.
