Be Resourceful Canvas by Guest Artist Sandra Evertson
Today’s project is courtesy of Guest Artist Sandra Evertson. This canvas uses elements from around her studio to create a distressed canvas with plenty of vintage-inspired touches.
Supplies:
- Relics and Artifacts
- Vintage buttons
- Canvas
- Ephemera
- Wire
- Assorted paints in beige, grey, and white
Be Resourceful Canvas Instructions:
Paint entire canvas and Relics and Artifacts with white paint or gesso.
Layer grey and beige paints around the corners of the canvas and dry brush over the top of the Relics and Artifacts. To achieve a dry brush technique, use very, very little paint on the brush and barely graze the surface of the resin castings with your brush so that only a little of the paint is left behind.
Continue layering paint colors with dry brush technique until desired composition is achieved.
Adhere Relic s and Artifacts to canvas with strong adhesive, like E6000. Wrap a length of wire around the flaming heart where the two parts join together.
Fill in left side of canvas with vintage, mother of pearl buttons.
Finish with a scrap piece of ephemera.
